10/07/2020: Member's guests are now also allowed into the Club - signed in via the usual way with a £2 cost per person.
The Management Committee are really happy to be able to welcome you back to Cheam Social Club, after what has been a strange time for everyone.
Whilst we have been closed we have been busy upgrading parts of the Club, and have now made the relevant changes required so that we are COVID-19 Secure, to make all our staff and members safe.
Like every other licensed premises, we have had to make some rule changes in order to operate. Please continue to read below so everyone is aware of what to expect.
🦠 Please only attend Cheam Social Club if you are feeling well and not showing/suffering any symptoms of Coronavirus.
🕐 We will be operating our normal opening hours prior to lockdown.
🚪 Please use the lounge bar door to enter the club. Exit will be via the hall door.
🍻 Please only use the hall area when you visit. The lounge bar area will not currently be in use when we open.
👨👩👧👦 Members, members children, CIU affiliated members and member's guests are allowed into the Club (member's guests to be signed in via the usual way with a £2 cost per person).
🔁 We will be operating on a first come first served basis. There will be no booking system or max 2 hours stay period like other venues. However members may have to wait outside, until other members leave, should we be at maximum capacity.
✏️ All persons entering the Club MUST provide their name and contact number on arrival. This will be kept for 21 days, in-line with Track and Trace Guidance. (Please bring your membership card with you).
🧴 Please ensure you use our hand sanitisers that are available throughout the club during your visit, and wash your hands thoroughly when able to do so.
6️⃣ Max 6 persons per table.
2️⃣ Only 2 households per table.
🤝 Please avoid shaking hands and close contact with others.
🍺 Please purchase your drinks from the designated bar area, ensuring you observe your social distancing whilst in the queue.
💳 Please use contactless payments for purchases.
🪑 Seated drinking ONLY. Please do not stand in groups around the Club.
❌ Do not move tables. These have been placed in position for social distancing.
🚬 Please use the designated smoking area in the garden, via the hall. No smoking to be permitted outside the front of the club premises.
🚾 Please only use the designated toilets that are in the hall. (Max 5 persons in the Gents / Max 3 persons in the Ladies at any onetime).
🎯 2 darts boards will be available to use in the hall. Max 2 persons per board. Please bring your own darts to use.
🎱 Unfortunately our snooker room will be closed to start with, although we are looking at ways to open this again as quickly as possible.
⛔️ Please make sure you observe the signage in place around the Club, to avoid close contact with others, and follow the One-Way system that has been put in place.
🧼 Staff members will be going around the Club to sanitise “contact areas” throughout their shift.
✅ Staff will be provided with PPE for use during their shifts.
We are pleased to announce that our newly refurbished snooker room is now open for use.
£2.00 / 30 mins play (Tokens available to purchase from behind the bar)
Please use the hand sanitisers available in the snooker room before, during and after play.
Please follow the entry notices on display for social distancing purpose.
Please use the toilets available in the hall. (Gents toilet next to the snooker room will remain closed for the time being)
Should all the tables be in use, please add your name to the chalkboard and await your turn to play.
Normal rules apply if there are people waiting to play. After your token finishes, please add your name to the chalkboard and call the next person in the queue.
Those who require the use of our “house” cues, they are available from behind the bar in exchange for your membership card. We also have a quantity of cue chalk available from behind the bar, which you can purchase.
Please refrain from using your mobile phones whilst in the snooker room.
Don’t forget that members are now allowed to bring their guests into the Club and guests are also permitted to use the Snooker Room.
Most importantly PLEASE RESPECT our Snooker Room
We ask that you please be patient with these new procedures that we have had to put in place. Getting used to them will not be easy, and at times maybe frustrating. We may have to remind you on the new procedures whilst you are using the club. We are not being difficult, it’s just how it has to be for a while. We will not tolerate any verbal abuse towards any member of staff or committee member from any person.
